Yep, there is a link between this post and last Friday's. Think about it. The folks who live in the richest counties around Washington, DC, lobbied and voted on bloating up a program intended for timber dependent counties in the Pacific Northwest and now use it to fund just about any program in the country. Meanwhile, the poor counties in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Northern California, western Montana...well, they're still poor.
